OFFICE PAINTING: FOUR CONSIDERATIONS FOR A BUSINESS OWNER OR MANAGER

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER PAINTING YOUR OFFICE

When customers walk into your office or work, your space says a lot about your care and your attention to detail. As a business owner, you need to make sure that interior of your office looks amazing. So how do you keep your place of work looking tip top for a long time? Let's take a look at a few ways to do that. 

1. USING THE BEST MATERIALS AND PAINT FOR THE JOB

If you have an office or place of business where there is high traffic areas, it would be best to paint your walls with a high quality durable matt. Something that can be easily cleaned and maintained. The higher the quality the more durable it will be and it can be washed more often. Durable matt is not porous like matt paint. If you buy cheap paint you will have problems with colours and have to apply more coats. If you are in a business where you have a showroom or a well lit area, matt or flat paint is best. The reduction in reflection of light, shows less imperfections on the ceilings and walls and looks superb. Cheap paint is no good for offices and places of business, it will cost you a lot more money in the long run.

2. CLEANING PAINTWORK

Clean the marks as fast as possible or immediately when you see them. The longer that mark is on the surface, the harder it will be clean and remove it. Try not to scrub the wall, wash the walls gently with clean water. You want to limit the damage of scrubbing and abrasion, so start cleaning the area lightly, then work your way to scrubbing if you have to. Use a soft cloth and water at first. If that doesn't work add a little detergent then rinse with a clean cloth and clean water. 
3. TOUCHING UP MARKS

Now this is tricky! The older the paint, the harder it is to touch up due to wear and tear and also due too much or too little uv light and furniture placed against walls etc. If the paint is within a few years old you may get away with touching up with the same type of application method used originally by feathering it out. The flatter and more matt the paint is the easier it will touch up. Paint like durable matt is almost impossible to touch up over time, it stands out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately the only way to touch up this is by painting entire sections of ceilings, walls, woodwork or metalwork.

4. MAINTAINING YOUR PAINTWORK

Invest in a company that maintains your property: You want your paint job to last for a lot of years, not a couple of years. If you have a company that does the job correctly the first time, it will last for a long time. Pay less money for an inferior job is false economy.
