The East Neuk villages — Anstruther, Cellardyke, Crail, Pittenweem, St Monans, Elie and Earlsferry — share a building style you find nowhere else in Fife: crow-stepped gables, red pantile roofs, and harled or painted render running right down to the harbour. Much of it is listed, much of it is now second homes, and all of it takes the full force of the salt air off the Forth.
That exposure is the whole challenge here. Painted render and timber need preparing properly and coating in the right breathable systems, or the finish lifts within a season. We have decorated these villages since 1959 — same foreman, daily clean-up, fixed quote before we start.

ABOUT THE EAST NEUK
Fife's painted coast.
The East Neuk of Fife is a string of old fishing villages — Anstruther, Cellardyke, Crail, Pittenweem, St Monans, Elie and Earlsferry — built tight around their harbours in crow-stepped, pantiled, painted-render stone. It is one of the most photographed coastlines in Scotland, heavily protected, and increasingly a place of second homes whose owners want the work done right while they are elsewhere.
We have decorated the whole Neuk since 1959. CHAS and SDF accredited, with the coastal-exposure experience and listed-building discipline these villages demand, and the same foreman from quote to final inspection.

Our HQ is in Edinburgh and we have served Fife since 1959. The East Neuk is a regular run — no separate travel charge, and the quote is the price.
